Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Department of Materials Science and Engineering
Sisi is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University. She obtained her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at Beijing University of Technology – Beijing City, China in 2017. During her 7 years in Beijing Key Lab and Institute of Microstructure and Property of Advanced Materials at Beijing University of Technology, Sisi focused on understanding materials at atomic-level using advanced Electron Microscopy (e.g. Spherical-aberration corrected TEM and in-situ TEM) and related analysis microscopy methods. With a great passion for Materials Science, Sisi decided to continue doing research in this area and joined Dr. Xie’s group from Spring 2018. Her research direction is to investigate the mechanical properties (strength and ductility) and deformation mechanisms (dislocation and deformation twins) of boron carbide and HEA single crystals at both bulk and small scales using advanced microstructural characterizations techniques such as EBSD and TEM.
