Microstructural Characterization & Small Scale Mechanics Lab

Texas A&M University College of Engineering

Dexin Zhao

Dexin is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Materials Science and Engineering department at Texas A&M University. He obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering at the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) – Harbin City, China in 2017. During his 7 years in Harbin Institute of Technology, Dexin focused on the forming process of aluminum alloys. With a great passion for Materials Science, Dexin decided to continue studying in this area and joined Dr. Xie’s group in Spring 2018. His research direction is to investigate the deformation and recrystallization mechanisms of magnesium (Mg) and Mg-RE alloys using advanced microstructural characterizations techniques such as EBSD and TEM.
